Frequently Asked Questions
Will I need to tune my motorcycle if I change the exhaust system?
Theres many factors to his. If you have a Harley-Davidson touring bike, the CAT is in the head pipe. If you only change the mufflers, you wouldn't need to tune the bike. However, if you change the complete exhaust system, its highly recommended that you get a tune. Even more so if you have a high flow air filter.
Can I use the stock factory gaskets?
Yes you can use your stock gaskets if they aren't the flat style. We use a machined tapered header collar that allows for a perfect seal at many angles.
How can I clean my brushed stainless steel exhaust?
Use a scotch brite pad and go with the grain of the material. you can add some wd40 to help as well. just be sure to wipe the system down with some kind of cleaner to remove the residue.
How can I clean my black coated exhaust?
Unfortunately, with ceramic black coatings there is no way to clean them or make them look like new again without having them stripped and re-coated.
Why is my brushed stainless pipe discoloring?
Its normal for stainless to discolor, the shade of gold and bronze colors will come from how hot the material is getting. the color temps will stay a bright shade of gold and get darker, closer to bronze as the temp rises.
Are the exhaust street-legal or track-only?
All of our exhaust systems are designed for track use only. Its best to check with your local and state laws to determine what is legal in your area for full 2-1 exhausts and cat-back slip On's.
